I am continually impressed by what EON accomplishes on shoe string budget with zero paid staff.
The currency that drives this organization is a sincere desire to make a positive impact on our community.
And we can't do it alone. Only by working together can we achieve a better New Brunswick.
Working together is hard. But, through coordinated action nothing is impossible.
The Systems Team has developed a simple set of tools to help us work together more effectively.
EON members can create groups on this website. Groups on the site mirror our working groups in real life. We have a Systems Team for example, so I made a Systems Team Group on the site. Making a group is easy you just have to give it a name.
Anyone with a working email address can join a group, if approved by the group admin.
Let's say, the EON systems team is having a meeting and I am taking minutes. Ordinarily, I have to make sure that I remember to email those minutes to the rest of the group and anyone who couldn't make it. Let's be honest, often those emails don't get sent out.
The solution is to take the minutes online on your group's page. That way, the minutes are always available to everyone in the group, even those people in the future who haven't joined yet, and you can make them available to other EON members or to the public if you want.
Groups can create announcements that show up on their group home page, or if you have really big news the home page of the EON website.
Groups can schedule events on their group-wide calendar for project planning and meeting scheduling.
Groups can brainstorm ideas and develop ideas with group wiki-posts.
And group members can assign and be assigned tasks that send you email reminders if they're not done on time.
These tools will substantially help keep all of our relevant organizing data in place for all group members to access whenever they need.
